The stepdaughter of a powerful politician finds herself in a game of survival.
"It's Chinatown meets John Grisham with characters you'll welcome into your heart page after page." - Best selling, award-winning author Katie French
"Twisty and powerful, what a debut novel!"
Boston Globe rookie reporter Matt Christenson is in over his head after he helps Claire McCallin, and her daughter Lizzie escape Mayor Jack McCallin's mansion.
As Claire searches for someone to corroborate her story, a trail of murders follow Matt and Claire. Time is running out and it's a matter of time before a deadly entourage catches up to them.
A story of a haunting childhood song, the bounds of a mother's love, and the far-reaching effects of sheltering a dark secret.
Praise for Itsy Bitsy Spider:

"A state-of-the-art action thriller."

"This book is like a rollercoaster with no brakes! "
As a reader, I look for genuine characters and enticing conflicts. It's not often that I find books by Indie Authors that I don't want to put down. Shursen delivers on both.
While the book deals with some pretty tough topics, Shursen's style keeps the cringe-factor low so the true strength of characters and story can shine through. I gladly overlooked the grammatical mistakes (which is the only reason for the 4 star review instead of five) as the story was so compelling.
Kimberly Shursen is going on my 'must read' list! Can't wait to see what comes from that pen (or computer) next :)
Itsy Bitsy Spider is truly one of the best books I've read in a long time. The thrills start on page one and don't let up until the heart-pounding conclusion. The book is a major accomplishment for a first time writer and bodes well for a long career and (hopefully) many books to come. Strong well-written characters, a page turning story, it's all here. Don't start reading this book unless you're prepared to finish it in one sitting. Itsy Bitsy Spider is that good.
"A novel that pulls no punches. The gripping story line grabs you from page one and takes you on an epic ride through family secrets, political corruption and the bounds of a mother's love. It's Chinatown meets John Grisham with characters you'll welcome into your heart page after page. What a debut from this talented author!"
