Korean Road: A Novella
Brian Scutt, author

While facing the ghosts and horrors of the past, Dick comes to the realization that the frozen hell he survived generations before is a battleground he can never leave. Tortured by the ghost of a fallen Marine, he is faced with the truth, that it may be too late for not only himself but those he loves. Hell is cold, and Death stands at the end of his road, the Korean Road.

Just read the first few chapters and having to go to work was the only reason I could stop myself from reading more. The story flows very well and is very interesting. When I come home from work I will probably read the rest of it! :)

Amazon

I am impressed. Very rarely does a book move me to laugh and cry all in the same paragraph. This is something I can relate to and that makes for a book I will read again.

I truly enjoyed the story from start to finish. Great passionate story and it made me believe I was the character. Also great to see the author Brian Scutt was in the armed forces and now is writing a story about the armed forces. Thank you for your service and thank you for the story.

Very good story. Crescendo intensity throughout, easy to plow through in a couple sittings because you get pulled into the story quickly, and it just keeps pulling. I really enjoyed this story.

Goodreads

I was drawn to this book out of curiosity, it’s a genre I’ve never explored. I’m more into chick lit. I was intrigued, appalled and gripped by the horrors that unfolded yet at the same time a sense of sympathy and understanding for all the characters. War affects everyone this book tells you how. Powerful.

The Helpful Hoarder - Amazon

Korean Road was gifted to me by the author. To be honest, it's not what I would typically read, I like humorous stuff, lighthearted reads, etc. But on Thanksgiving, I needed some 'quite time', and I had this downloaded on my phone, so I laid on the couch to read it. Literally, I was so wrapped up in it, I didn't even notice that I had been reading for over an hour, completely completely wrapped up in the torment of this story. I can't even explain how skilled he is with description-it could not possibly be any clearer if Scutt sat down and personally painted you an actual picture. Each word so raw and honest, it left me pretty awestruck, no joke. This isn't a fluff read, it isn't lighthearted, and it's not happy. It will take you out of your happy place. But it is something you should not miss out on reading, if only to get a taste of the massive skill of the writer. I checked out the author's page, and immediately bought his other story, Hemingway's Shoes. I will buy anything this guy puts out-period.
