La petite fille et la Lune drew me immediately in and I know that it’s one that my children will love! The illustrations are simple, bold and quirky – somewhat reminiscent of a Dr. Seuss book! The movement of the story is absolutely wonderful, drawing you in, taking you by the hand on a marvelous adventure full of fantasy, wonder and creativity. This is what children’s literature should be all about!

The language is simple and engaging with a perfectly rhythmic cacaphony of short phrases, isolated words, wordless pages, repetition and emotion. And wonder! Let’s not forget the wonder that fills the pages of this delightful book. (There is a preview of the book at the bottom of this post.)

Translations are not offered in the book itself, but the language is simple. For true beginners, the English and French versions could be used side by side.
