. . . The author's love for children is evident in the book. It is one of the cutest cat stories/verses I have read in recent times. It is so difficult to say what I liked most about the book. Everything is so appealing and cuddly. Kids are also introduced to rhyming verses in a very subtle way, getting them into reading verses and trying to write or recite small rhyming poems. Absolutely delightful and a treat for young readers.

I believe I was one of the very first to order Sannel Larson's debut children's book, "Melvin ... bad, bad kitten!". My copies arrived quickly from Amazon and I was not disappointed. Simply put, this book is wonderful and perfect for all the little ones in your life. The story is about a darling, mischievous kitten named Melvin and his adventures (or should I say misadventures) with his loving owner.

You see Melvin, like most kittens, just wants to play and have fun. Anything and everything that moves can become a wonderful adventure for Melvin! Unfortunately, things don't always go as planned yet somehow Melvin always seems to come out on top!

This 32 page page book follows Melvin through one of his adventures in a lovely rhyming verse that is sure to captivate young imaginations. It's also filled with beautiful, colorful illustrations, created by the author herself, that help bring to life all the characters and action in vivid color. Young readers will be able to immerse themselves in Melvin's mischief as if they were there themselves. It's large format is perfect for children.

"Melvin ... bad, bad kitten!" will make a ideal gift for birthdays, Christmas or any special occasion. Your children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, even neighborhood kids will not be disappointed and will fall in love with little Melvin. I will be giving copies to my great nieces this Christmas! It will make a great bedtime story that they will want to hear again and again!

Sannel Larson's sweet story of the naughty kitten, Melvin...and his antics, reminded me of the healing and comforting memories I had as a child when my Mom read to me as I was falling asleep.

Awaiting the release of Melvin. . .bad, bad, kitten! for weeks when finally arriving in the postal box excitement filled the neighborhood. First looking through I marveled at the detailed and colorful illustrations of Swedish author and Poet Sannel Larson. Each brightly colored drawing offered a smile. Beginning again, reading each rhymed stanza sang to the next sharing the escapades of a cute kitten Melvin on a magical tour of fun and adventure. Having bought a few for the neighbor children and grand children they soon filled the neighborhood and a few doctor offices too.

The icing on the cake was the grand daughter of a neighbor across the driveway in the trailer park I live. She is near four heading toward five, brand new reading glasses, and sitting on the mobile home steps. She was drawing on one of the several blank pages offering opportunity for crayolas or colored pencils following the story of Melvin. . . bad, bad kitten! While speaking with her grandmother we grinned as her colorfully hummed tune danced in the morning dawn breaking toward noon. I asked, "Who is that?" Gleefully she shared aloud "Melvin!!!!!"

Sannel Larson offers her love of children and rescued pets like her best friend "Max," a pup of twelve years, through her merry words of rhyme as Melvin adventures through the day. Some say mischief is this and others say it is that. Many share it is learning how with a what and a why and giggles along the way. Her attention to detail of the illustrations offer her flow of colorful expressions shared by both Melvin and his many friends with rhyme bring to life a children's story of learning. Seeing Melvin flying here and there one can see the influence of Astrid Lindgren and Elsa Beskow on Sannel's life and this work as she enters the world of self publishing with both purpose and being purposeful.

A highly recommended read and more will be making their way throughout the neighborhoods. Keep the crayolas handy for the total learning experience. The time of sharing and learning what Melvin, his loving care giver, and his other gleeful friends offer through the retelling of the story with the many blank pages offers opportunity. Each child's interpretations of the story and the learning lessons shared by Melvin. . . bad, bad kitten! present a time of understanding, care, and love between storyteller, audience, and readership.

Two thumbs up, most certainly a five star rating, a must get for sharing a wonderful story, flowing and colorful illustrated offering giggles along the way, and presents an opportune time of learning too. The storyteller and the child will gain immensely from Melvin. . . bad, bad kitten! Remember the Crayolas . . .

I can so relate to this wonderfully composed book filled with illustrations of Melvin the bad, bad, kitten. It took me down a playful road of fun and adventures. Its much easier to relate when you have a kitten as well, mine is called Tobye and he can be just as cuddly and cute. I would highly recommend this amazing children's books, every child will follow the frolic that Melvin spins as he chases his tail about. The author is fascinating, her illustrations colorful as her Melvin finds ways to be so playful. I am happy to pass this book on to my grandchildren.
