"They took broken and made it art."
Trash artist Seth Carmen has lost everyone he’s loved and even some he didn’t, and now he’s better off alone, but once feisty blogger PJ Hensley enters his life, he can’t imagine a world without her in it.
And when she loves him & leaves him, he spends five months writing her love letters to convince her to come home.
PJ Hensley is dealing with her own tormented past and a stalker she doesn’t want to admit to having, but she’s pulled herself together in order to graduate and focus on her future. The last thing she needs is a moody trash artist entering her world. But like all things Seth, he enters anyway with an intensity and focus that leaves her breathless.
Can PJ set aside her own tormented past to lose herself in the intensity of Seth? Can he convince her that he can weld their lives together into something beautiful?
From award winning author, LJ Evans, comes a novel inspired by Bon Jovi songs that shows how love and acceptance can heal even the toughest scars.
I fell in love with the My Life as an Album series from the very beginning. Cam and Jake stole my heart in My Life as a Country Album and introduced me to so many characters I truly loved and wanted to follow. My love only grew deeper while reading Mia and Derek’s story. I loved them, and fell deeper for everyone else. However, I will fully admit Seth is not someone I expected to love.
Seth is a tough character. His behavior in Country Album moved him from bad boy to troubled and almost villain in my book. I could see that his life hardened him, but I had a hard time seeing any redeeming qualities hidden below the surface. However, my faith in Evans and her writing was strong enough for me to be anxious to dive in with his story. I am so glad I did! I fell hard for Seth and PJ.
I expected PJ to be the character to change Seth and lift him from the darkness. You know what I mean, good girl meets troubled boy, and he changes his ways? Yeah, not what happened. Instead, they lifted each other up. Both characters have overcome so much in their lives. Some might describe them as broken or scarred. But together, they were beautiful. Their romance seemed like a whirlwind. From the very beginning, their connection was undeniable. But something that strong and fast is hard to trust.
My heart broke over and over for these characters. Their journey wasn’t easy, but it was completely worth it! This story was unlike anything I have read, and in true Evans fashion, it brought all the feels. Evans has a way of hooking you with characters you want to succeed and taking you on a journey were you feel every part of their story deep in your heart. Seth may have started out as a villain in my book, but he was certainly a hero in this story. The amount of character development that took place over the course of this book was incredible. Seth and PJ were real and raw. They were tragic and beautiful.
This book is told mainly through a series of letters from Seth to PJ describing past events, as well as PJ’s reaction to them and snippets of present day. The transitions from past to present were clear and easy to follow. The style Evans used, made it impossible to know exactly what was going to happen and certainly enhanced the suspense and emotion of the story. I absolutely loved it!
This is a story you don’t want to miss. While it could be read as a standalone, I think it is enhanced by reading the series in order. You will be able to fully appreciate the character transformation by meeting Seth from the very beginning. However, this story will fill in any holes, so you can easily read and understand everything without reading the first two books.
Two twisted and battered hearts who were created to meet and help to heal each other's broken pieces do just that in this amazingly beautiful and touching story. I'd been dying to read Seth's tale and this was one huge and powerhouse of a novel. This will take your heart along on the journey with his Bella. The dual point of view is such a powerful way to pace this.... you need to see into both of their souls to really understand what drives them both... what they both battle and run from. There is a part where the controlling Seth finally let's P.J. go and it's such a memorable and both joy-filled and heartbreaking happening. The whole book leads up to this and Ms. Evans fully delivers. Her execution is so masterfully accomplished that it's a scene that you'll long be ruminating about later. It's just my favorite part of this whole story ♡♡♡ I'm so thrilled and excited and just plain ecstatic to finally have been able to read this book! I loved how events in the first two books were intertwined with this one.... it just made everything so perfect to me. Do not pick up this book unless you're ready to invest your heart. Ms. Evans has created another raw and powerful story about love and hope and forgiveness!
