Obscurity
Jodi Ashland, author
Selena Hawkins’s controversial best-selling book brings her face-to-face with country star Tucker Calhoun, who threatens her on so many levels. Deciding to help the famous—and devastatingly handsome—singer or suffer the consequences of a lawsuit, she uncovers a deep mystery that puts her life and Tucker’s family in jeopardy. Will she get to the truth before it’s too late—even if it costs her the man she loves? With millions at stake, Tucker will do whatever it takes to avoid police involvement, including going after the author who threatens his ability to protect his family. Confronting Selena wasn't meant to bring someone else into his life, but the more time he spends with her, the more he can’t let her go. He’s devastated when she betrays him by going to her brother, a detective with the Seattle Police Department, for help. Will Tucker finally see the true deception right in front of him, or will he end up losing everything?

RT Book Review 4 1/2 Stars Top Pick

Two strangers trying to get their lives back on track are thrown together in an unusual twist of fate. There is plenty of sexual tension and swoon-worthy moments in the first half of the book, while the second half is filled with twists and suspense. Ashland writes a compelling tale featuring a sexy cowboy who steals a beautiful, spunky author’s heart. This page-turner will keep readers enthralled to the end.

Country singer Tucker Calhoun is struggling to keep his sanity. A family member has been kidnapped and there is a two-million dollar ransom for their return. The hits keep on coming, too. His thriving country music career hits an impasse after a book comes out that portrays him in a negative light. Selena Hawkins was just trying to deal with her sister’s death when she wrote her book of poems. She had no intention of publishing it or, worse yet, ruining someone’s life. Selena and Tucker have both suffered devastating losses and that draws them together at first. Their attraction goes far deeper than good looks and explosive sex. However, the universe seems to be against them as there is a cadre of people determined to put an end to their newfound love. (DUVAL PRESS, Mar., 214 pp., $9.99
