Corrupted by this power, his ways turned dark, and the world fell with him. I was the only one with the ability to dream of stopping their madness. I did not realize the cost would prove far greater than the benefit. A life for a life, replace by Wrought. The line of Land Dweller kings now broken, chaos gripped the world. The Ocean Born tried to fight it, but our young king failed. Forced into hiding, all knowledge of the Ocean Born, the power of the kings, the wondrous abilities of our people, passed to myth. As I began to fade, I looked to the future, seeing only darkness, a slow but overwhelming power destined to swallow everything. All would fall because of my failure. As the last breath of my consciousness began to leave me, I looked one last time into the midst of the deepest dark, and glimpsed a flicker of light, a change… hope, but also the darkness.
