I absolutely loved this delicious romp through ILP's colorful and touching life. I laughed, I cried, I learned, I wondered....and connected a few of my own personal dots along the way. A truly delightful experience either devoured at once or savored story by story. I hated for it to end!

5.0 out of 5 stars A funny and witty perspective on life, love and loss, September 25, 2014

I savoured every minute of this book. While I normally cannot find time to sit and read, I hid away and devoured it in two long sessions as I couldn't put it down. The writer tells of her life's greatest joys and losses through a witty perspective that had me laughing at one minute and crying the next.
I can't wait for her next book.

Wonderful, funny and moving. I related to so many of the humorous and touching stories in the book. There were times I felt as if the author was sitting right next to me in my living room telling me the stories first hand - which says so much to the voice within the book. Highly recommended - a great and memorable read.

We can all relate in some way to the hilarious and endearing stories in this book. It's like sitting around with some wine and your best friend, laughing, maybe crying, while sharing those crazy times of your lives that made you who you are today. I. Leigh Private, thank you for being so open and honest in revealing some of your most personal stories. It is refreshing and validating. By the way, girls, this book makes a perfect gift!

5.0 out of 5 stars I like this fearless wanderer, I Leigh Private, wondering what will come next, September 15, 2014

I love books that take me on a ride and for this one you MUST buckle up! I traveled the world in a matter of hours. I laughed and cried and sometimes that happened in the same story. "Okey Dokey Trail" reminded me that the human experience has no prescribed rules of convention and to think that I can impose a formula on life with it's coincidences and surprises is pretty foolish. I like this fearless wanderer, I Leigh Private, wondering what will come next.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny, funny, funny, touching, funny, and relatable!, September 15, 2014

This review is from: On the Okey Dokey Trail: A Smart-Aleck Perspective on the Give and Take of Life (Kindle Edition)

I couldn’t put this book down. It's full of vivid stories about the various times in life--childhood, college, simi-adulthood, work, marriage/parenthood and of the ordinary experiences in everyday life . The authors unique voice shines through and as she captures the humor in all of the times: letting go of our children as they grow up, turning the big 5-0, the dilemma of dealing with your sweet child who desperately wants a dog when you don’t, getting too many traffic tickets, having to “parent” your parent or having to care for a loved one who is sick and disabled to suggest a few. It’s an fun, uplifting and totally enjoyable easy read. You will smile, laugh (and laugh) and may even cry from some of the stories found in this book. Cant wait to see what’s next!

5.0 out of 5 stars Laughed till I cried, September 15, 2014

This review is from: On the Okey Dokey Trail: A Smart-Aleck Perspective on the Give and Take of Life (Kindle Edition)

On the Okey dokey Trail by I.LEIGH PRIvate made me laugh till I cried. It is a collection of short stories told by a woman who
Had to make her own way in the world and certainly did it with style. My two favorite tales were the one where she goes to pick
Up her daughter from camp and the second funniest one concerns her buying yet another car. The stories are not all funny but are all too human. I deeply enjoyed the experience and highly recommend it .
