I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered this book but I am so glad I did. At its heart is a memoir of a life that is by the author's own description "messy", but it ends up being so much more. Heather Portenier writes with an honesty that is brave and that invites the reader to find hints of themselves within her experiences.
