I’m one of those individuals this book is aimed at: I don’t like poetry. Poems Practical is radically different and significantly more enjoyable than those I’ve read in English classes. Most of the entries are rooted in the author’s interesting, unconventional musings on daily life, often expressing opinions rarely aired in the mainstream. The mind's images the author creates are striking, sometimes even exhilarating. His use of language is nuanced, literate, and imaginative. If you’re interested in a unique style of poetry that challenges your perspectives with a master’s touch in crafting thoughts, I highly recommend this book.
