Great read full of twists and turns with a fantastic ending
The book pulls you into its narrative giving you a front seat to the protagonist's plight. The format is different but a welcomed change to what is considered "normal" in the literary world. The beginning of the story allows the reader to feel the solitary flood of emotions imagined after ones death before drawing you deeper into the telling with fantastic scenery, limited dialog and an end that will leave you desperate for more.
Reading David P. Applebury's book "Promise : A book of Death", I was reminded of Bunyan's "Pilgrim's Progress". There are broad similarities. This book is modern and darker in its effect. I specially liked the character Death and his relationship with the heeo. The main character is able to negotiate the path of afterlife... (but no more)... Read to find out for yourself.
