WHAT WOULD YOU CHOOSE: LOVE OR DUTY? As the Torrian Alliance continues its age-old mission of hunting down Star-children, King Gregorio Derry reluctantly agrees to send his only son, William, to planet Earth on a mission to bring honor back to the Royal Family name. The target: Sydney, a young teenage girl, unaware of her alien heritage. When an unforeseen accident delays the assassination, William begins to realize a connection forming with Sydney and struggles to follow through with his orders. With the fear of Civil War imminent back home, William must make the ultimate choice between his irrevocable duty and love, sacrificing everything he believes. But as a hidden menace emerges to secure a vested interest, and impossible odds begin to mount against them, William and Sydney wonder if a connection between two Star-Crossed lovers is enough to save them from destruction.

Prince William, in order to restore honor to his family's name, is sent on a mission to earth to destroy a star-child.  William is joined by his endearing sidekick, IMPI, to find and take out the star-child along with any threat she may pose to his planet.

Enter Sydney, a sassy, outgoing teenager who lives with her grandmother.  Sydney has no idea she is a star-child, nor does she have any idea how to harness her star-powers, or even why she would do so.  Prince William makes the mistake of getting to know Sydney, and then it's too late... he can 't bring himself to end her life.  The problem is that in order to save Sydney, William must turn his back on his family, his people and his planet.

Add to the mix, the fact that William is not the only bounty-hunter sent to end Sydney's life and you've got a really intriguing story that encompasses action, adventure, romance, drama and a measure of science fiction that helps make this multi-faceted book a very engaging read.

Protostar is the first book in the Star-Crossed Saga by award winning author, Braxton Cosby.  Ending skillfully with a suspenseful cliffhanger, this book, with its well developed characters and many surprising twists will leave readers anxiously waiting for the next installment in the Star-Crossed Saga.

Midwest Book Review

But the two meet and Hunter William Derry's mission becomes clouded, as he quickly finds himself torn by honor and love. ProtoStar is a unique spin of the doomed love, very much recommended."

5 out of 5 Stars- Gold Medal Book of the Year Winner for Romance- Fantasy- Sci-fi Category
The first thing I noticed abut Braxton A. Cosby's book The Star-Crossed Saga; Protostar was the cover. It definitely got my imagination going. The story begins with Prince William preparing for his mission to destroy the Star-Child. The Torrian Alliance was on the brink of civil war when the Council recommended sending Prince William to Earth-- thousands of light years away--to destroy the Star-Child before civil war broke out and the ancient prophecy was fulfilled. When he began his journey he never expected to fall in love with his target. Sydney Elaine was a typical seventeen year old girl with no knowledge of her destiny. This Young Adult Sci-Fi book has it all: romance, innocence, mystery, intrigue, prophecy and adventure. While this plot has been used before, Braxton Cosby puts a fresh new slant on it. William seemed a bit other worldly and it was fun watching him and Sydney's relationship grow. This clever book was written for the true Sci-Fi connoisseur. Cosby writes like a seasoned author and I look forward to the next installment in this series.
