Wow, what an touching story. I read it in one sitting, long after the lights should have been turned off. I felt like not doing so would’ve been a disservice to the author and her story. After reading the book I felt stunned and hopeful in equal parts. Stunned because of the realization that anyone, however liked, can be taken from the world at such short notice and early on in life. Hopeful at the openness and frankness of the human heart. I also grew up in the late 70s and 80s so somehow connected even more with the story and the characters.
This is a book not only for people touched by cancer, but for all of us who occasionally need to step back and reflect on life. It introduces a new and contemplative perspective and gives readers a unique story of those living with cancer.
What makes the book so valuable is the heart felt warmth that radiates through the pages.
Beautiful
I read this book in one sitting, unable to put it down. Although this is a young adult novel, its truth and beauty makes it appropriate for all ages.
Anyone who has experienced profound loss, or even the little growing pains of adolescence, will relate to this novel.
