Reality Check: A College Student's Survival Guide is the ONLY college survival guide written by a current college student/young adult. John Mikaelian is a first-generation college student and he transferred to San Diego State University from Los Angeles Valley College for the Fall 2013 semester. After working in the retail industry – a top performer – for over four years, Mr. Mikaelian wanted to share the knowledge and experience he obtained throughout his educational and professional careers. As a result, he decided to write his first book, Reality Check: A College Student’s Survival Guide. Mr. Mikaelian believes his generation, “the social media generation,” is not ready for the “real world.” As a result, this publication is intended to be a thought-provoking wake-up call for college students and young adults alike, as they will learn to make informed personal decisions and maximize their college experience.
