Catherine became a nun in 1958, aged 19 years. Fifty-three years later, a young girl called Jo turns up at the convent, drunk, claiming to be Catherine’s grand-niece and refusing to leave. As the days pass, the other sisters begin to look at Catherine differently, to disagree with her, even to ignore her orders. Worse, there are the memories that the girl unleashes, so that it is as though all the intervening years never took place. As though a fateful summer long ago was happening all over again.
