Great storyline! I got sucked right into it. I would recommend this book!!! It will satisfy anyone looking for action and adventure with plenty of mystery as well. as fantasy too I wasn't sure how I would like it until I got about 10 - 15 pages into it and then I knew it was going to be good I could hardly put it down. It has plenty of twists you never know where it is going to go next. I immediately loved Rose I could easily relate to her personality. Fantastic book!

Shadow’s Voice is a fantasy story about Rose Ula, a young lass who is on the run from her past and anyone who might know her. I like a story that starts off getting straight into the action and nitty-gritty and Shadow’s Voice is no exception. A man with a message for the king asks Rose to complete his mission and Rose gets plunged into a dangerous journey to fulfil her promise.

Rose is a likeable character, even though she does her best to keep the rest of the world at arms-length. I liked the way that Natalie builds Rose’s relationships with the supporting cast. It kept the story moving along at a good pace, while still leaving Rose’s past shadowed and uncertain.

From the start it is clear that Rose has some shadowy talents and has experienced a troubled upbringing, but Shadow’s Voice is a good story of an unlikely heroine finding her way in the world that Natalie has created.

The enigmatic magic that Rose seems eager to be rid of is excellently described and well fleshed-out. There’s a little bit of Cinderella about Rose, but a dark and mysterious Cinderella. Having said that, there’s plenty of action and intrigue, humour and adventure that make the book a good read.

I enjoyed reading about Rose’s adventures and I hope she has many more…!
