"Slay! the Dragon Presents...Pink Cloud Poetry" is the first collected volume of poetry by writer and spoken word performer Greg Wilder (stage name: Slay! the Dragon). Although the subtitle of this book is "Poems From Early Recovery", and though the author is a recovering alcoholic/drug addict with over 3 years sober, not all of the poetry contained in this volume are geared specifically "towards addicts" and are far from what you could consider "normal" poetry as well. Even though  this collection is bookend with poems relating to addiction and recovery, as you will see, it covers a much larger range of subjects, such as: Answering Frequently Asked Questions relating to Gender Non-Conformity (“Non-Binary”); the negative effects of low-income, single-parent households on cats (“Pet Detective”); Mental Health Disorders, childhood trauma, and scary clowns (“IT Comes Back”); a dystopian society which ended up becoming eerily prophetic this year (“What A World”); Birds and Insomnia (“Nighthawk”); overdose and suicide (“Vicious Ending”); Republican assholes and Leftist twats (“A Leftist X-Mas Carol”); and, of course, a Sexy Weathergirl (“Forecast”). It is the author's hope that there will be at least a little bit of something here that just about anyone can connect with on some level.
