DENVER, CO, February 17, 2020 – Perspectus, the author of “Soul Seeker: Reflections on a Journey from Darkness to the Light,” today officially launched a new, updated edition of his book, here at the exhibition area for the Center for Spiritual Living’s annual conference at the Grand Hyatt, where he will be signing copies of his book, Feb. 17-19.
“My book’s initial focus reflected on my journey from the darkness of illness and despair to the joy of healing, redemption and the light of spirituality,” explains Perspectus, the pseudonym of veteran international communication professional, Michael T. Houghton. “However, my serenity and commitment to living in the light was put to the test last year when I was confronted with news that the person who murdered a custodian that I worked for as part of my work/study loan in college 50 years ago had possibly escaped punishment.”
In the new edition, Perspectus details his research into the half-century-old murder case and the moral dilemma he faced and resolved. He talks about the importance of not backsliding into the “dark night of his soul” while reinforcing his belief “that without darkness, we will never find or know the true value of the light.”
At once a memoir of sorts, Soul Seeker serves as an inspirational guide for others seeking their purpose and the meaning to existence. In addition to the photographs, poetry and prose of the author, the book examines such things as mindfulness, meditation, spirituality, the soul, purpose, faith, truth, love, peace and more.
