Still Shot
In this second book of the Point and Shoot Mystery Series, Private Investigator A.J. Buchanan is invited to the wedding of cousin Merline of Louisiana and she and husband Travis are planning some romantic vacation time in the steamy city of New Orleans. She even hopes to learn more about her deceased mother's family, people her father refuses to discuss. But when AJ’s cousins start dropping like flies and Merline disappears, A.J. and Travis find themselves drawn into a macabre play that's as fraught with intrigue as Macbeth. Some say the spirits of her ancestors will protect her; others say those ancestors want her dead.
Reviews
Set in 2005, Quatrano’s entertaining sequel to 2015’s Murder in Black and White adds more depth to her intrepid lead, FBI agent-turned-PI AJ Buchanan, who has “a love for photography, justice and [her] husband Travis, not necessarily in that order,” and who runs “on an insane sense of responsibility to right social injustice.” AJ and Travis travel to New Orleans to attend the wedding of a cousin, Merline Thoubodore, whom she barely knows. It’s also an opportunity for AJ to learn a family secret involving her late mother’s family. The awkward family reunion turns tragic when one of her other relatives, Clive Thoubodore, falls down a flight of stairs, breaking his neck. Foul play is suspected, and AJ and Travis investigate. The family secret AJ learns of proves to be a possible motive for murder. Quatrano effectively combines characterization, plotting, and suspense. (BookLife)

Don't Miss AJ's Second Adventure by Skye Taylor

Nancy Quatrano’s characters, AJ and Travis are a super couple. Friends, confidants and lovers so real I wish they lived next door, but it’s absolutely amazing how much trouble AJ manages to land herself in. Guess that’s why Travis calls her Trouble when he’s teasing. He’s the kind of loving, supporting, level-headed husband any woman could wish for. And he’s always got her back when she gets the bug to solve some mystery that ends up backing her into a difficult, life-threatening corner. Still Shot doesn’t disappoint. It’s got more twists than a bag of pretzels and is just as tasty. Treat yourself to a great mystery and get to know this wonderful couple.
