Fresh Fiction

Barb Jackson just wants to get some last minute Christmas shopping done with her friends. The mall is busy this time of year, but Barb loves the hustle and bustle of the Christmas holiday. However, Santa Claus appears to be missing and a crowd is waiting for his appearance. This Santa won't be showing up, unfortunately, as he has been murdered. Barb will have to use all of her private investigator skills if she hopes to discover who is behind Santa's death.

THE BLONDE BEFORE CHRISTMAS is sheer fun! Anna Snow crafts likable characters, and I love Barb and her friends. I like the idea of a group of women working together to handle private investigations and Barb, Kelly, Mandy, and their law enforcement contact, Mona, make a great team. The holiday cheer of the story reinforces their friendship and bond, and I can't wait for more stories involving Jackson Investigations.

Anna Snow does a great job at packing a lot into such a short story! THE BLONDE BEFORE CHRISTMAS is a fun, engaging story and the Christmas setting is perfect. THE BLONDE BEFORE CHRISTMAS is my first taste of Anna Snow's writing but I eagerly await future stories by her in this genre. If you like cozy mysteries with likable characters, THE BLONDE BEFORE CHRISTMAS is the perfect story to curl up with this Christmas season!

Night Owl Reviews

Anna Snow’s The Blonde Before Christmas is a gift to readers because it’s a fast and festive read, which is great for the holidays. I think it’s a good book choice if you're missing the holidays as well. The story had the right amount of mystery to pull readers into the plot for a swift reading break between your Christmas shopping or baking.

The main character Barb and her best friends bring readers along for a whirlwind mystery. I enjoyed the fact that there were as many suspects as Christmas tree ornaments, and that the mystery wasn't too complicated or too simple. My only comment about the story was that I wish the detective didn’t leave, as I truly enjoyed his interactions with Barb because they seemed to complement each other so well that I'd love to see his wife become one of Barb's friends since she seems like she might fit right in. If you are looking for a fun time, you should curl up with this story and these fabulous ladies.

When Barb Jackson became a Private Investigator, she probably never dreamed she'd find a dead Santa Claus under a Christmas tree in a shopping Mall with the big day just around the corner. But, that's just what happens to her and before she knows it she and her friends are determined to save the holiday and stop a killer before becoming the next victim.

Socrates' Book Reviews

It’s almost Christmas and private investigator, Barb Jackson, is doing some last minute Christmas shopping with her best friends. When the mall’s Santa Clause is a no show, Barb is stunned when she spots his dead body under the mall’s Christmas tree. Barb is saddened when she realizes how this investigation is going to ruin the lead detective’s family holiday plans. With some help from her friends, Barb intends to crack this case to give the detective and his family the holiday celebration they deserve.Barb Jackson is a great amateur sleuth. She has strength, drive, and enough humor to make this a light, enjoyable cozy mystery. This is a short novella which introduces us to this cast of characters. It can be read in just a few hours and will get you right into the holiday spirit. My only complaint is that it left me wanting more, which isn’t a bad thing.I can’t wait for the first full length book in the series.
