A collection of history research papers written by the author during his graduate coursework. Most of the articles relate to the American Civil War -- from soldier studies to examination of the legal causes of the conflict. The final paper included was honored by an academic conference as the top paper presented; it deals with the death of U.S. Army General Edward R.S. Canby.
