Did you ever read a book and wonder "what did I just read?" Or, "why am I still thinking about this book?" I don't mean these questions as criticism because I find that if I'm pondering a book after finishing it that it drew me in to its world. This is what has happened to me after reading The Jub Jub Club.

This book isn't about character development. It's about action. Fast, quick, and sometimes confusing. It's a book that made me wonder what it would be if it was a movie. I think it would make a great movie.

The author gives just enough of each character's development that I was able to follow how each of the six young actors had been used by the adults in their lives. This is the arc of the book that has me pondering it after I read it. What's my complicity in enjoying movies or shows that have exploited child actors?
