The Last Princess of Saint-Domingue:

The queen prays to the gods for her first and only girl child.  The gods readily grant her wish conditioned upon the queen's payment of a great sacrificial price.  Sadly, the queen pays this price after her daughter is captured by slave merchants.  The queen's girl child, Bibi, continues on a journey of struggle and pain in the strange land of Saint-Domingue.  She develops courageous tenacity and strength along the way.  Bibi overcomes the perils of slavery, oppression, and despair to eventually see a brand new day.

Journey with Bibi from the villages of Africa to the tropical island of Saint-Domingue.  See her escape slavery to join the rebellion fight for freedom.  Watch her find love with a beautiful Taino boy.  Feel her growing hope despite the atmosphere of hatred and turmoil of warfare. 

Eventually, Bibi successfully fulfills the African prophecies.  She becomes part of a new land, a new country, and a new life of freedom.
