The Master of Whitehall: Katelyn's Chronicles, Book One of The Master of Whitehall
Rick H. Veal, author

Adult; Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror; (Market)

“The eerie opening dream sequence in Veal’s novel creates a sexy inevitability. An enticing supernatural plot with an initially frisky pace …” Kirkus Reviews

The Master of Whitehall: Katelyn’s Chronicles is the beginning of The Epic Saga of The Master of Whitehall and the first of a sweeping five volume narrative set in Charleston and the surrounding Low Country of South Carolina. It is a contemporary paranormal love story that is unlike any other vampire romance available in today’s market. The immortal characters of Whitehall Manor, unlike other vampires are not dead, but genetically changed. The only real difference in their mortal and immortal existence is a change in diet and sleep patterns; they live exclusively on human blood and do not sleep.

Katelyn is a tough and strong willed young woman from Atlanta who must overcome a horrible tragedy. James is the epitome of a Southern Gentleman with an old world aristocratic bearing. The love story that grows and ripens between the two of them is of a classical and timeless nature. The characters are strong, well developed, mesh perfectly and are likable to the point that it often seems as if Katelyn has joined you for a cup of coffee and a friendly chat as she delves into her tale.

The story of James and Katelyn, unlike the usual, everyday vampire tale, is made stronger by a supporting cast of equally powerful secondary characters, each of which contributes their own story in the other four volumes. The tale has sufficient twists and turns to keep the reader guessing to the very last page and has won multiple accolades from bloggers and reviewer’s.
