Jude is a 16 year old private school student who discovers that he can communicate with and see spirits. He sees angels and demons too, which are part of an insidious agency known as The Horde. In a trance his consciousness visits heaven, and he soon learns of an all out war for the fate of humanity between the forces of light and the powers of darkness.
