‘The Prison Book’ describes a life filled with addiction, alcohol, drugs and relationships in new novel

Tamara Segars Ott announces publication of debut title

WACO, Texas – Marley Thomson Marx had it all going for her, but an addiction to alcohol ruins everything as she leans more and more on the crutch that threatens her life in Tamara Segars Ott’s debut novel, “The Prison Book: Alcoholism/Addiction: A Life Sentence” (published by Archway Publishing)

Marley’s story about addiction shares how a beautiful, intelligent, fortunate, compassionate and much-loved Christian woman just happens to be an addict. Although Marley succeeds in almost every endeavor she attempts, she struggles with her alcohol dependence. How did someone with all the world’s opportunities and advantages end up like this? Will Marley ever be free from her disease?

“Addiction comes in many forms, and attacks people all over the world. All of us have been, are, or will be affected by someone in our lifetime by addiction; it may be self, a loved one, a friend, neighbor, or passer-by,” Segars Ott states. “With the enormous member-base of programs such as AA (Alcoholics Anonymous), NA (Narcotics Anonymous), Al-anon, and so many others specifically developed for a particular addiction, anyone and everyone can relate to this story in some fashion or form.”
