The story begins on August 22, 1848 and ends on December 28, 1946.  The first book is "Breed Tucker", the second is "On Brotherhood", and the third is "Boone".  The terrain is mostly in the Carolinas and northeast Georgia, and there are three families with a strong supporting cast.
