I FLOVED Quint and Annie. Their love, angst, anger, sadness, happiness, uncertainty, hope, faith, friendship—basically everything about each of them, I LOVED. Even at their worst moments, I LOVED them… Well, I wanted to hit them up-side the head a couple times, but I still loved them.
Add in their parents and friends, and I couldn’t get enough of them. I loved everything about this book from start to finish. 10 stars if I could… ~ Missy, 5 stars
Holy freaking wow!
This book is so sweet, and then just so sad, overall amazing!
Annie and Quint have been best friends since they were five, and became a couple at 15. They were each others first kiss, first time, first boyfriend/girlfriend. They went off to college together and shared that experience along with all the others. At just 22 years old they consider themselves having been together for 17 years, their relationship is ridiculously sweet and pure. I fell in love with them as a couple, I adore childhood sweetheart stories.
Everything was going perfectly to plan for them, they both graduated college and Quint got picked up as Shortstop for the Baltimore Orioles and Annie followed him to Baltimore. Anne's dream of being a teacher was put on the back burner whilst they settled into their new lives.
If you read the blurb then you'll know tragedy is coming, but it doesn't come right away, oh no, you are left dreading what is around the corner. I was on tenterhooks for a good portion of this book waiting for the other shoe to drop. I knew it was coming, and having fell in love with all things Annie and Q I was just dreading it. The more I read the more I fell in love with this sweetest couple that ever was, and the more I hated the thought of anything going wrong.
So here's your warning, brace yourselves because Annie and Q WILL get to you! Don't worry though, the ending is worth the path of heart ache you'll travel to get there.
I definitely recommend this book, and this author. I've read every book she's written so far and I don't think I've ever rated one below 5 stars. I can't get enough of her books!
Have you ever read a book, where at the beginning all you are thinking is things are going too well and you know something HUGE and HORRIBLE is going to happen??!! Because that’s all I was thinking at the beginning of this book!!! I literally had to put it down and wait a day because I was afraid of what was to come. BOOM!!!!! IT happened and I was RUINED and a crying mess.
This book elicits so many feelings. You can’t help but fall in love with the characters and their story. You are feeling their emotions right along with them. Your heart will break. Seriously I was a hot mess reading this. But the writing is amazing. Their story is amazing and is my new favorite from the author. I love when a book makes me feel and this book took my feelings on a roller coaster ride.
Now usually I’m not surprised in books, I can see things that are coming. But one secret that was revealed totally caught me off guard and had me yelling at my Kindle. It totally threw me for a loop.
We not only get Quint and Annie’s story but we get glimpses into some of the side characters lives. I found myself enjoy them as much as I did Quint and Annie. I cant wait to see what AM Madden comes up with next. She’s one of my go to authors. I’ve read all of her books and will continue to one-click every new release. You need to experience Annie and Quint and all of their ups and downs.
