Sonya Visor, author
Thirty-two days, divorced. Moving day has arrived for Nadine Parker, but she needs a plan of execution. Nadine struggles to find the strength to break free from the hold of what-once-was with Zane Willibe. After being a couple for sixteen years, thirty-two days of marriage revealed the truth about Zane. And now, the secrets begin to unfold. There’s a war going on between old and new Nadine. Under the surveillance of her hawk-eye mother-in-law, Nadine is held captive in her role as Zane’s wife. And her mother-in-law has made it her full-time job to keep Zane and Nadine married until death-do-them-part. But Nadine’s mother and father are in the background praying for her to get untangled from the devil’s love triangle. Will Nadine continue to be Zane’s oxygen, while suffocating in her own cage of guilt? Or will she make the right decision to set both her and Zane free?
Reviews
Visor (Love Me for Who I Am) explores the pain of sexual abuse and marital dishonesty in this affecting tale of love, loss, and moving on. Nadine Parker decides to leave her husband Zane after she watches a video of Zane and his male lover in bed, but she keeps getting sucked back into his family drama. Told in a series of flashbacks, Nadine explains how, as a newlywed, she walked in on Zane watching gay porn. Unable to broach the subject, Nadine presumes he has homosexual impulses and, though she is skeptical of their relationship, stays with him for several years for appearances’ sake. But now, Nadine’s domineering mother-in-law is holding the couple hostage with blackmail and threats, even stealing Zane and Nadine’s divorce paperwork to make sure it is never filed. Desperate for love and support, Nadine reaches out to her faith-filled estranged family, whom she had walked away from several years earlier. As they help her recover, Nadine’s father confesses his knowledge that Zane suffered from sexual abuse, which he thinks is the root of Zane’s sexual confusion. With the help of God and her family, Nadine finds the strength to heal. With more open communication, Zane and Nadine begin to explore God’s love, but will that be enough to keep them together? Though the timeline can be hard to follow, Visor’s strong story pushes the envelope for inspirational fiction and tackles difficult subjects with understanding. (BookLife)

From project to project author Sonya Visor has shown herself to be a storyteller that is able to bring you into her characters' lives and make you look at them and yourself differently. With TRESPASSED she doesn't disappoint, allowing us to see how living a lie affects us and others and why facing the truth is necessary, regardless of the consequences.

We meet Nadine and Zane, two individuals who on the outside seem to be what so many strive to be. But there are things going on in their relationship and in themselves that have to be confronted---and when that happens who knows where things will end. Along the way they have to deal with external forces who try to influence their decisions and control their lives, but in typical Sonya Visor fashion we see that the real One that should be leading us is God.

How will relying on God help nadine to move forward in forgiveness and renewed faith? That is what readers will see.

Expect the unexpected in this one. Sonya Visor's TRESPASSED delivers a powerful story about living and facing your truth.

Goodreads

This was an amazing story. Zane and Nadine were both trying to put bandaids on their open wounds. Neither realized they needed to heal themselves first. Once the bandaid was removed, the truths started rolling straight out, making one strong and sending the other flailing. Can't wait to read the rest.
