Did I want to review True Tails from the Dog Park II? My answer, yes, of course because I’d reviewed the first book, and Max and Luther have quickly become some of my favorite authors.
First of all, don’t let the fact that this is a children’s book put you off reading it. It’s a family book for all ages. Like its predecessor, it puts a smile on your face and brightens up your day. It’s perfect for reading in one shot, and the ideal book for a parent to sit and read with a child or grandchild.
For those of you who don’t know about Max and Luther, they’re two dogs who became instant friends when they met at a San Diego dog park. Max is a Puggle (that’s half Beagle, half Pug) and Luther is an Olde English Bulldog. This book, like the first one, is a collection of some of their funniest stories taken from their time at the dog park, and beach, and their lives in general. Some memorable ones are their encounters with teddy bears, rattlesnakes, and even dogs in diapers.
And it’s not all stories, Max and Luther even included fun facts about dogs, foods never to feed to canines, top dog names, and also best dog parks and beaches. If you’ve spend any time around a dog, you’ll find all their adventures and mishaps all the more funny.
I think this would make a perfect gift for the upcoming holidays, not only for a child but a dog lover too. I can’t wait for the next book by these two canine authors.
