This is a 71 page soft cover book and the dimensions are 18.5cm x 11.5cm. The cover has a young faceless person on it. The book is made up of two parts and in total there are 55 poems.

The author Yolanda De Luliis has taken 10 years to create this book of short poems. In the introduction it is suggested you should perceive the poems how you want to and if you gain or feel touched in some way by them, then the author has achieved what she wanted to in writing this book.

I found it to have a very dark theme running through the entire book. I read ever poem and found that the theme was very similar. The author has a style that I would describe as morbid, depressing and angry with lots of regret. I enjoyed reading them because they took me on my own journey through parts of my own life when I was involved with and mixed with people and places that were less than ideal and heavily influenced by drink as well as drugs. I felt my own emotions struggle reading some of the poems and could feel how some people in my life made me feel bitter, resentful, angry and regret being in some of the situations I found myself in. Lots of the poems were about blame and regret and mostly negative emotions.

I found it tough reading some of the poems and felt sad and even upset but then that is just my interpretation of the poems. Someone else could come along and read the exact same book and find it uplifting. I think it is a sign that the author has done something right to be able to stir up emotions in a reader, whether it be positive or negative, it shows that what is written is getting to your soul and bringing up emotions.

I felt the theme running though the poems all had a lot to do with drugs, addiction, death and suicide which could be taken in different contexts depending on who reads them and their own life experiences.

I think many people including myself has experienced difficult and unfair relationships that we may have preferred to go in a different path if we knew what the outcome would be but sadly we don't always choose wisely and end up with scars that sometimes are so deep you think they will never go away. These things make us who we are.

At the back of the book it has these words "This dark and lonely world, can it only lead to love and loss? There is more to some than what you see or read but only you know what it may be."
I personally believe there is more to life than love and loss, at some point we have all loved and probably lost more than we would have liked but then this is what makes us who we are.
