Venus Figurines is a novel about Anya and James whose pursuit of love becomes ritualistic and self-defining. They navigate the fine line between venerating love and exploiting it for pleasure. Erotic and mirthful, a central theme of their story is ‘art of venerating women’ - Venus Art. Examples of Venus Art include the myth of the birth of Venus, Renaissance paintings and sculpture of Venus and statuettes of women made by Neolithic peoples thousands of years ago. Archaeologists call these statuettes Venus Figurines. The same emotions that drive James and Anya drove the creation of these expressions of love. My book is a modest contribution to this tradition.
