It didn't take me long to get into the characters in the book. The relationship between Miranda and Henry is so believable. The attention to historic and modern detail is excellent. A very vivid portrayal.

This is a great light read for holidays and travelling or something you can simply pick up each evening. It moves in to the story quickly and has a nice pace. Modern day life mixed with Tudor history is what gives its most interesting uniqueness and the Author has plenty of twists and turns, making the book unpredictable whilst keeping your interest. I can't wait for the sequel!

An interesting debut novel that really did capture the Tudor period and the political maneuvering of the court of Henry VIII. The time travel aspect is handled well and the character of the heroine is well drawn, although my favourite character was Lady Marchant, a formidable lady who if this book was ever televised would have to be played by Maggie Smith!

In the interest of full disclosure, the author is a former colleague whose work was always thorough, professional and balanced. I do not enjoy reading for pleasure, but decided to read her book partly because she once edited and transformed one of my work documents into a flowing masterpiece.
This may be the catalyst that gets me to read recreationally once again! The author is a wordsmith whose rich text was magical and a pleasure to read. Never once was I tempted to skip to the end, I savoured each well chosen word and phrase. The novelette was also filled with lessons/wisdom one would expect from an O. Henry short story. The story is complete within the book, yet leaves open the possibility for a sequel. I was so in touch with the words on the written page that a small error/typo jumped out at me, so get your first edition copy now before it's corrected!
If you enjoy an author with a gift for words, you are bound to savour and love "When Love Unlocks Time"

This book has it all. Love Story, Historical Novel and Adventure. I could not put it down right from the beginning as the Author transports you back in time, then weaving into modern day life again. I hope Camilla will write more fantastic stories like this.

As a primarily non-fiction reader, I found this novel thoroughly captivating and enchanting. It is fitting to say that each time I had to stop reading I could not wait to start again. (The book was to me what the alcove was to Miranda!). I highly recommend this novel and cannot wait to read another from the author.

This time-travel story is somewhat unusual in that Miranda is able to enter and leave King Henry VIII's court several times.
It's rather like the play/movie "Noises Off" in which the same scenario is repeated three times with each time presenting a different viewpoint.
Miranda Glover enters through a door where a Tudor masked ball is in progress. In one episode, she is approached by King Henry and dances with him, eventually becoming his mistress. In this time-slip she barely escapes with her life.
When she returns to the present, apparently time resets itself and her previous experience never happened.
I enjoyed this story very much.
