Whose Apple is it, Anyway! is a practical book outlining the best responses to the difficulties encountered in life. Author Linda Williams sheds light on our reactions to life events through the lens of a Christian perspective. She explains that Satan would do anything in his power to destroy our destiny as human beings. According to Ms. Williams, the Devil - or Fakenstein - influences our thought patterns, especially by making us vulnerable to adopting a negative outlook. For example, if a female friend had a boyfriend who treated her badly, she might approach the next relationship with fear or distrust. The author suggests that we must shed this “corpse” created through our internal reaction to the trials of life. The Apple is actually an acronym for Attitude, Perception, Perspective, Lies and Expectations. Ms. Williams identifies that these five elements are interlinked through our thought patterns. Our way of thinking is manifested via our habits and ultimately our overall behavior. The importance of having a positive and upbeat outlook in life is recommended as a way to defeat the Devil at his game.

Whose Apple is it, Anyway! is an eye-opener for the average reader. Author Linda Williams did an excellent job explaining the intricacies of our thought patterns and their outcomes. I was impressed by the thorough approach she utilized with this subject matter. Personally, I have learnt this lesson the hard way as a result of my own life experiences. I wish that I had had the opportunity to read this book years ago. It would have surely alleviated some of the emotional upheaval I have experienced previously. The language used is colloquial and it is quite easy to understand. The tone of the book is conversational and friendly. I appreciate the use of direct questions in the format. This encourages inner reflection. The use of capitalized headlines makes the text more organized, as well as galvanizing the attention of the reader. I love the fact that the author shared her own experiences to elucidate her points. This personal touch allows the reader to identify with her and realize that we all have our crosses to bear. This book is an uplifting and educational read. I thoroughly recommend it to all readers.
