The Murdock Sisters are close, unique, and beautiful. These are the only traits they share in common. Their lives are turned upside down after the sudden death of their parents. The tragedy leaves them fragile and wounded, each trying to make sense of their lives. Their only unified decision was to make a fresh start in a new city. Camille Murdock is a mild-mannered owner of a coffee house café. Bianca Murdock, wounded in love, is a pseudo-militant civil rights activist who free-lances as a journalist. The Murdock Sisters are forced to face their differences in life and love when Camille meets and falls for the handsome, up and coming executive, Preston Warner Hughes. Surprises and drama surface when Bianca, while following a lead, uncovers a plot which could destroy Preston, his career, and ultimately her sister Camille. This discovery may also put Bianca on a path towards love. The lines of sisterhood are drawn and tested between healing, romance and hate. Which one will prevail?

AWESOME! Whyte Chocolate is an excellent tale of the love shared between two sisters and the differences that make them unique. This book was well written and hits all notes - drama, humor, suspense and romance. Once I turned the page, I couldn't put the book down. Whyte Chocolate is a must read! I would love to read a sequel or even see this on the BIG Screen.

This is really a quite charming & heartwarming story, written from an African/American point of view. Cynthia Knight, in this her debut novel, originally written in 1997, gives voice to deep human issues & aspirations precisely from that particular cultural viewpoint. I'd venture to say that it's uniquely suited to create better understanding, especially in this country, at this time, among people of different races, opinions, approaches to life, etc. The story is beautifully written & I found myself eager to read the next chapter. The humor between the characters, especially Camille & Bianca, along with the fits of anger & disagreement, rings very true to life.

My only criticism is a technical one: it would appear that whoever proof-read the final draft of the book missed an awful lot of mistakes: misplaced quotation marks, misspellings (e.g., El Guona for El Gouna), grammatical errors: mostly minor, but very annoying. Nevertheless, I look forward to more works by this gifted author.
