This is a story of one man's road trip to the 1996 Monterey Historic Races. After returning from the Middle East he buys an old BMW and heads north to Monterey for the vintage car races. On the way he meets up with some of the local residents who befriend him and lead him from the Laguna Seca raceway onto the streets of Monterey and the hills of Carmel Valley. He gets invited to a grape harvest party which opens the door to the world of central coast wines. What starts as fondness for Syrah motivates him to enjoy the entire home wine making experience.
