'You're a snowflake unlike any other, so unique in one way or another.'
These lines convey the essence of what the author wants to tell young readers. The rhyme, the whimsy, the colors, the illustrations and the rhythms make it a charming story book. The pictures complement the words beautifully and add to the effect of the concept.
I ordered this book for my grandchildren and I would like to share my story. They live very far from me and we communicate by Skyping. The girls are 4 and 5 so to keep their attention via computer is not always easy. The one thing we do together is that I read to them via Skype. I had just got Sannel's newest book and began to read the story to them. I could see them sitting on the couch memorized by the colorful Sunflowers and the poetic rhythm. I recommend this beautiful illustrated book with its capturing poetic verse. It lifts up a little ones heart by encouraging them to be who they are. Just like the snowflakes or bubbles, each unique in their own way. Thank you Sannel for this sweet children's book. A message every child needs to hear.
Astonishing! Sannel Larson does it again. Her newest book ‘Your Are Perfect Just the Way You Are’ culminates the authors previous books reinforcing a child’s self-esteem by presenting how unique each child is. Her familiar rhythm with poetic rhyme changes pace from the humorous tale of Melvin . . . Bad, Bad Kitten and the bouncy, lively Angels Can be Playful and Silly Too to new heights with a different genuineness and heart felt warmth. Her creative illustrations reinforces her message to children and reader’s alike how important each is, how uniquely each is different, and the importance of loving others and oneself is. Her message is presented with care and with a gentle heart speaking directly to each child’s inner being . . . inner soul! Thank You Sannel for bringing to life the message of self-esteem is significant to development.
Despite the efforts of Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, it’s not unusual for youngsters to doubt themselves, to feel less of themselves for not measuring up to the perfection seen in mass media. Sannel Larson uses soothing rhyme and soothingly beautiful graphics to reinforce the concept of self worth and uniqueness.
“You are Perfect” is perfect to read aloud with a child, to share and discuss with the young audience. This is the kind of book that begs for a return visit to the text and especially for the stunning graphics.
Through rhyme and beautiful illustrations, Ms. Larson lets children know how special and unique they truly are. They do not need to judge or compare themselves to others because they are perfect just the way they are.
I recommend this book for the children in your life.
You are Perfect Just the Way You Are
Lets your child know they are a sunflower superstar
Share with them this special gift
It is sure to give your heart a lift
'You Are Perfect Just the Way You Are' made by Sannel Larson brings a beautiful message that every child should know she or he is perfect just the way they are.
This is the first book I read with my daughter made by this Swedish author though based on reviews I read with this one she again managed to make beautiful and motivating piece which boosts children self esteem teaching them of their uniqueness.
On thirty-four pages lined are beautiful illustrations of people, animals and nature, and under each of them there are several verses written in rhyme such as „Brightest, brightest precious star - please remember who you are - You are the star that never fade - oh yes, the rarest star ever made“ or „Don't forget who you are - you are a miracle by far - A diamond so unique and fine - always sparkle, always shine“ - which emphasize the message book carries.
At the end of this picture book can be found a one-page afterword in which the author summed up what she already presented through the wonderful photos and words. And instead paraphrasing, I'll write one of the sentences that will particularly soften both younger readers and their parents –
„Please remember that our beauty comes from within our heart. If we love, care and show compassion for people, animals, nature and ourselves alike, then our heart will be the sun that spreads its beautiful sun rays to whomever we meet, and the happiness we'll receive by doing that, will make us into the most beautiful, proudest sunflower superstar in the world.
Be proud of who you are, my sunflower superstar!“
Sannel Larson with 'You Are Perfect Just the Way You Are' created a warm and emotional picture book to read before going to sleep, which is certainly worth to recommend. After its reading I'm certainly going to read her other works, like many other readers, I'm sure.
5-Star Review from Readers Favorite - A beautiful book for children that conveys a beautiful message.
You Are Perfect Just the Way You Are by Sannel Larson is a perfect book for children that tells them that they are all perfect in their own way. The author metaphorically tells readers about the charm, difference and uniqueness of each child by comparing the charm and beauty in diverse objects like the pebble, rainbow, star and many more. It teaches children to accept themselves for what they are and appreciate their beauty and charm as true beauty lies within each of us.
The rhyming verses and the colorful illustrations will captivate children and illustrate the author's concept easily. It is a beautiful theme that speaks to kids about self esteem and acceptance. It is a useful book for children and I recommend it for all school libraries because it is perfect for read aloud sessions in libraries and classrooms. It makes a good bedtime story book too for parents and grandparents to read out to kids and grand kids.
Books with these positive messages are ideal because they teach young readers good things at a very early stage in life.'You're a snowflake unlike any other, so unique in one way or another.' These lines convey the essence of what the author wants to tell young readers. The rhyme, the whimsy, the colors, the illustrations and the rhythms make it a charming story book. The pictures complement the words beautifully and add to the effect of the concept
This is a wonderful book for helping all children know that whatever, whoever, however they are – they are perfect.
I love poetry that rhymes and I found that most of the written words did that. Children remember rhyming words better so this is great for allowing the child to remember what is being read.
The illustrations are colorful and fun. They are done in things that children can relate to and items that they learn about first such as sun, moon, stars, clouds, bunnies, etc.
This is a book I would give to a new mom for her child’s library. It would be a good read as a bedtime story - - a positive note before sleep.
