Twelve-year-old Carly loves her Grampa more than anyone else in the world. So when he dies suddenly, under extremely bizarre circumstances, she is devastated. A few days later, her Gram tells her that Grampa left her something and hands her a box.
What could Grampa have left her that would fit in a box this size?
When she opened the box and read the letter Grampa had included, along with a journal and a strange looking key, she was so shocked that for about thirty seconds she questioned her Grampa's sanity.
This couldn't possibly be true! Could it? Then, little things about Grampa when she last saw him, started to nag at her. The dark tan. The weight loss. The scraggly beard stubble. And, how exhausted he looked.
Could it really be true?
But, seriously… what other explanation could there be?

5 Stars - very pleased with this book and am certain my granddaughter will enjoy itI bought this book for my granddaughter based on the reviews. As I usually do, I skimmed through it before she came over and found a great read. I ended up reading it from cover to cover and was very pleased with the age appropriate story that was fun to read. As a retired school teacher this is a book that I would have definitely had in my classroom for my students to borrow.
I am looking forward to my granddaughter reading this book and hope she enjoys it as much as I did. Truly a gifted author.
5 Stars - This is my all-time favorite book. After reading it, I gave it to my Brother for he, and his Wife to read !! It was an amazing book that I really hoped was longer but I guess the Author may surprise us with a subsequent edition. I took this book with me on vacation and can’t put it down for nothing. Superb Book !!!
5 Stars - A Read That Will Make You Wish that you Had a Time Machine July 2, 2015It sure isn’t easy being a kid, particularly when you’re a girl with more than enough problems in trying to navigate her way through the middle school. There are boys and bullies and---time travel. Yes, time travel. And this is where the joy of reading this delightful tale lies, in the author’s ability to alternate between two worlds; reality and fantasy. It’s absolutely what I liked best about this book, the adventures of two young girls, fun-filled and written to be memorable for both young and old alike. I highly recommend for your tween or for anyone who believes that your imagination can take you anywhere.
