SEAL Team Six: No More—Book 13: A New Flame
Max Kent and Dan Wickline. Dynamite, $7.99 trade paper (194p) ISBN 978-1-5241-1554-8
Kent and Wickline touch all the usual military thriller bases in their tight, fast-paced Flame novel, the 13th entry in the series created by Chuck Dixon. Admiral Dorrance assigns former Navy SEAL Randall “Flame” O’Donnell and Flame’s business partner, Dana Morton, to rescue 16-year-old Caleb Caldwell, who has gone to Turkey to serve with the Kurdish fighting force known as the YPG. Flame and Dana visit the Caldwell family at their California home, where from the teenager’s computer Flame gets the name of the YPG official who recruited Caleb, Sor Bav. Flame and Dana, along with fellow former SEAL Andrew Clark and former Marine Recon Paul Francis, head to Turkey, where they connect with Bav, and tracking Caleb down proves fairly straightforward. Flame and crew engage in several vividly depicted battles in the course of their mission. Series fans won’t be disappointed, and the realistic action will impress first-timers. (Self-published)
