BookLife, PW’s subsidiary devoted to helping self-published authors, will hold the first BookLife Indie Author Forum on March 19 from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EDT.

The forum will cover the writing and publishing of adult and children’s books and will feature a variety of panels. Topics include “How Can Self-Publishing Work for You?,” “Reading a Book By Its Cover,” “Making Your Mark in Nonfiction,” “Authenticity in Storytelling: Writing It Right” and “Why You Need an Editor.” Marketing panels take on the hard issues: “Amazon Best Practices,” “Achieving Picture Book Success,” “Beyond Amazon” and “Know Your Genre, Know Your Audience.” Two breakout sessions dubbed “Pitch Perfect” critique aspiring authors’ book proposals.

“As a vital hub for indie authors, BookLife offers industry expertise as well as access to authors who can share with participants the secrets to self-publishing success,” said Matia Query, BookLife editor. A special supplement about the forum will be published in the March 23 issue of PW.

“The BookLife Indie Author Forum will be packed with some of the most accomplished voices in self-publishing,” said Carl Pritzkat, president of BookLife and chief operating officer of PW.

Cost to attend the show is $149 per person. Registration is available here.
