Design Note 1: The use of bright, cheery colors gives a sense of excitement and positivity to a subject that can be anxiety-provoking.
Design Note 2: The original cover feels choppy with white space, fonts, and the image. Tightening up the subtitle and allowing more space at the top helps alleviate this issue.
Design Note 3: I wanted to humanize this cover with an image that shows the intended audience for the book. It appeals to the more modern, upcoming crowd of retirees who may find it a helpful resource and guide.
Design Note 4: This specific image goes hand in hand with the subtitle, making it much clearer that the book isn’t only about money, but also considers other factors like relationships and quality of life after retirement.
