Book Cover Redesign: 'Why Career Advice Sucks'
June 26, 2017
This month, Deborah Bradseth at Tugboat Design reimagines the cover of Miles Anthony Smith’s Becoming Generation Flux—now titled Why Career Advice Sucks—by rebranding the author’s books as a new series.
Design Note #1: This was not just a cover redesign, but also a branding of the author’s new Why Sucks series. The colors and images will change, but the layout will stay the same for each book in the series.
Design Note #2: The title is the main focal point of the new series design, as it will quickly catch readers’ attention—even more than the imagery used. Bright colors for the title will also help attract readers.
Design Note #3: For nonfiction covers, you want to relate to readers’ logical side—instead of their emotions—so we’ve used a relatable, uncertain looking person.
