Advocate, dreamer, humanitarian, successful entrepreneur, wife and mother of four, Aalia Lanius has forged a family built on diversity and the acceptance of it.
Married to Entertainment Attorney and Film Executive Producer, Joseph Lanius, she sets the example of using media to share honest and positive messages.
A promoter of various causes, from survivorship of trauma, addressing religious conflicts, and education on mental wellbeing, Aalia embraces her storytelling and public speaking ability to create dialogue around some of society’s most pressing issues.
Not a stranger to any of the causes Aalia champions, she herself has personally lived a life that is as tragic and heroic as her fictional characters, which she purposely weaves into the fabric of her work.
Like some of her characters, Aalia represents a multi-cultural and diverse background, both genetically and religiously. The exposure to such contrasting cultures and a love of anthropology throughout her life, shaped the ideas she carries today about social issues.
A California native with a German and Mediterranean background, Aalia is fully aware of the conflicting psych living in America, having first-hand knowledge of the topics addressed in her books. After launching her debut novel, Tough Love, in 2018, she started a journey of writing fiction that strikes at social issues. With a more proficient storytelling skill and a more tempted wish to empower the under-represented groups in society, Aalia launched Jugend to directly challenge hateful rhetoric and encourages interfaith communities to support each other in order to expedite a much-needed positive growth within humanity.
“It is my belief that until we learn to care for each other as a species, as human beings first; wars will be waged that needn’t be, children will die that shouldn’t, and people will suffer that never had to in the first place. I want to address that.”
