Dr Alex Bryant is a psychology tutor and improv comedian, appearing twice a month in London’s Museum of Comedy with his troupe Hivemind, making up brand new fantasy worlds every night. He’s been a drama teacher, playwright, and ski instructor too.
Alex was born in 1990 and grew up in Highgate, North London, which also happens to be the setting of The Identity Thief (he’s kinda unimaginative like that). At Cambridge, he researched delusions, as they occur in both mental illness and in everyday life. It turns out it’s much harder to tell the difference between madness and sanity than we might think, in a world where most people still believe in superstition, magic, and the paranormal. Alex is also fascinated by the psychological traits that lead to extremism and intolerance - forces which drive societies apart if left unchecked. These interests led to the world of God Machine, where both witchcraft and fear of witchcraft are still running rampant in the modern world, with both hilarious and tragic results.
