Born and raised on the south side of Youngstown, Ohio, Alison Huff is a writer who loves words. Sometimes she’ll say a bunch of them for a really, really, really long time as a form of improv entertainment. Her family often remarks that she can make any story last until the end of time so naturally, she accepts that as a personal challenge whenever they’re gathered around the dinner table or trapped in the car together during long road trips.
Alison has been married to her husband Kevin for more than 20 years and together, they raised two daughters who are now grown and amazingly well-adjusted, considering who their parents are.
While much of Alison’s written work has involved comedy and satire, she’s a writer, editor, and novelist with a passion for writing in all forms. Quite literally, all forms: she’s written poetry, ridiculous songs, obituaries, personal essays, opinion pieces, news articles, resumes, website content, product descriptions, Craigslist ads, and even sex toy reviews.
When she isn’t writing or editing, Alison is listening to music, reading, cooking, or playing video games. She collects tarot decks, pretty rocks, and of course, books. So many books.
Although her hair is threaded in silver—more and more each day, it seems—she welcomes every new wire that sprouts from her head.
It’s a sign of wisdom, or so some say, and a life well-lived despite its many challenges.
Finding beauty in everything and being okay with not necessarily being okay . . . well, it’s how we move forward.
And how we keep going.
