Convergence is Anthony Carilla’s first major novel. Anthony’s inspiration to write Convergence arose
from a desire to complete a PhD on the human conscience and its relationship with the brain at the
metaphysical level. Whilst there is an enormous body of work about the conscience, consciousness
and the brain by many great philosophers, doctors and scientists there is still much to do to try and
understand what powers the conscience. Where do our thoughts and dreams come from, where do
they go? Are thoughts, ideas and dreams simply chemically derived neuro-electrical impulses or is
there something more at stake? Are our dreams and thoughts linked to an unknown energy source
at the quantum level? Anthony felt the best way to convey his thoughts on the subject was to write
a story that would provide one possible explanation of the essence of the human mind and soul.
