Art Smith is a novelist living near Columbia, Missouri with his wife, Amanda. He trained in school to be a chemist, and, when he decided that wasn’t for him, a computer scientist. Art still works with computers, but hasn’t stopped wondering what he wants to be when he grows up. He’s nearly sixty. His ideal job would involve lots of good coffee, live music, savory food, warm conversation, and frequent hugs, but this has eluded him, somehow.
When he’s not writing or working with computes, Art enjoys playing tuba with the ShowMe Brass, taking photographs in his home studio, and playing various tabletop and role-playing games.
Every November Art devotes his life to National Novel Writing Month (www.NaNoWriMo.org), during which time he and thousands of others each try to write 50,000 words of new fiction; a glorious insanity that Art believes everyone should try at least once. It is probably not surprising that Art is a life-long fan of Don Quixote.
