Aurora M. Lewis is a Black woman, retired from the finance industry. She has been writing since she was a pre-teen. Aurora M. Lewis is a Black woman, retired from the finance industry. She has been writing since she was a pre-teen. She became serious about her work and, in her late fifties, received a Certificate in Creative Writing General Studies with Honors from UCLA. Her poems, short stories, and nonfiction have been accepted by: The Literary Hatchet, Jerry Jazz Musician, Gemini Magazine, Persimmon Tree Magazine, The Blue Nib, Flash Fiction Magazine, Copperfield Quarterly Review, and other publications including several anthologies. Aurora won two writing contests and was nominated for two Pushcart Prizes and a Best of the Web. In recent years, her love of Jazz, garnered from her mother, has manifested into Jazz Poetry and is a testament to her mother and the genre. She is currently working on two collections, one of speculative short stories and the other memoirs of poems and essays.
