Betsy Kelleher grew up on an Iowa farm that cultivated her love of nature and animals, especially horses. She's the author of two books for horse lovers, and for twenty years she wrote a column "Sometimes God Uses Horses" for the Illinois Horse Network newspaper. In 2013, while struggling to accept God's will in the loss of a son, walking her Boston terrier became a spiritual pilgrimage. In a secluded field just beyond the visible edge of her mobile home community, she finds God's intimate, healing presence within the peaceful beauty of nature. She and her husband Russ live near the Arlington Wetlands Conservation Project in Pontoon Beach, IL, the area she calls her "healing place."
