Bradford Baber is just a regular guy. He began writing only when he realized it did not require an advanced degree, celebrity status, surviving a major life catastrophe, or years of psychotherapy to deliver a profoundly important message to the world. “I am no one, and at the same time, everyone. I just had to pay attention. I believe the same is true for you.”
Watching parts come together with meaning and purpose into an integrated whole has always fascinated him, especially regarding life’s more esoteric questions. The meaning of life and other metaphysical subjects first captured his attention as a teenager, probably because at that time, he was coming to terms with being a young gay man, grappling with love and relationships in that context—especially his relationship to god. This burgeoning self-awareness fit nicely alongside his passion for relating the parts to the whole. In this case, he was relating the part that was him to the whole universe.
Having no formal literary credentials is further complicated by the notable lack of drama in his life. There has been no critical illness, nervous breakdown, homelessness, debilitating trauma, or major upheaval of any kind. His life is ordinary. But out of the ordinary comes extraordinary, if you allow it.
